How to Lose Friends and Alienate People
Here’s another interesting take on being frugal versus being cheap. A frugal person takes responsibility for their own spending, and that means that they set up a budget and are thoughtful about the things that they buy and don’t buy, but it also means that they know that they need to pay their own money for the things they want to purchase.

A cheapskate, however, may have no qualms about doing whatever they have to do to save money, even if that means skipping out and leaving other people to pay the bill. I feel like that’s something that isn’t going to work too many times, though, before all of your friends refuse to go out to dinner with you because they know you’re going to pull something like that.
