In the Big House
It’s the American dream: a big house, big yard, lots of space for entertaining, even though you actually won’t entertain nearly as often as you like to believe you will when you’re looking at houses. But since this big house with the big yard costs a lot of money if it’s in a desirable location, then if you’re trying to save money, you’re going to have to buy that house in the middle of nowhere.

Personally, I hate having a long commute so much that it really wouldn’t matter how much I could save by living an hour away; it wouldn’t be worth it. Someone I know used to work in New York City and commuted for three to four hours every single day just so they could own a big house outside the city. I just don’t see how that’s worth it—you have no time to enjoy this massive house you bought!
