This does seem like something we might lose a few years to, and explaining it in an interview can be difficult. The way the job market works these days really sucks in that regard because you are expected in many ways to work nonstop with few breaks. Otherwise, you are judged or have a lower chance of even getting an interview.

The whole way the market works needs an overhaul; this whole thing is utterly ridiculous. People make bad life decisions, there should be a little more accommodations and acceptance of failure from people. After all, it’s about what you do with the failure that matters.
