Funnily enough, I recently read an article about how much money you can make as a court reporter, or stenographer. The woman in the article was a single mom who had no college degree but got the training to become a court reporter, and now she’s making six figures a year.

When I read it, at first I wondered, “Why don’t more people become court reporters? That’s great money!” Then I realized it would require you to sit all day and listen to horrible things that people had done. I bet that for a lot of people, that’s not their cup of tea. It’s definitely not mine. But it could be worth it, if you learn to tune it out.
