From a Diamond-Plated Barbie to Chanel Bicycle: Ludicrous Celebrity Purchases We Can’t Wrap Our Heads Around

Okay, this is Nicolas Cage’s third feature on this list. Needless to say, he’s out of control. In addition to the LaLaurie Mansion, the actor purchased another historical house called Neidstein Castle in Germany. Nicolas was inspired to invest in the 500-year-old castle as a way to get in touch with his German heritage. 

Nicolas’ dreams of castle ownership were pretty short-lived, though. He purchased the huge property in 2006 but then sold it to his German lawyer in 2009 after doing some exterior renovations. Needless to say, a 28-room castle would be a huge undertaking for anyone. Maybe he bit off more than he could chew with this place!
