#33: Man with a Plan
If you’re in the mood to freak out a little, try pulling up last month’s bank statements and adding up how much money you spent on food. Unless you’re already a hardcore budgeter, there is a really good chance that that number is going to freak you out.

Most of us spend way more money on food than we realize or need. One way to cut down on that number is to be more thoughtful about the food you buy. If you always go to the grocery store with a plan, you won’t make as many silly impulse purchases, and you won’t buy food that you’re not going to end up eating in time. It’s a win-win.
