Poverty Is Expensive
There’s something that a lot of people who are wealthy don’t understand: that being poor is actually very expensive. Being poor means that you can’t get in front of problems; you just have to deal with them once they become disasters. It means having to put things on credit cards and then pay even more money for them because your credit card debt racks up interest.

That’s how poverty can become a vicious cycle that keeps sucking people back in and making it really hard for them to climb out. Telling poor people to just try harder is pretty much never useful advice. How about giving us some actual practical advice?
