#15: Same Rights
Here’s a fun fact: taking someone to court is expensive. Like, really expensive. According to a survey, the average cost of a civil lawsuit in the United States is over $50,000. That’s enough to make anyone think twice before suing their neighbor over a barking dog. Thankfully, I’ve never been involved in a lawsuit (knock on wood)!

I can tell you that the idea of spending that kind of money on legal fees is enough to make my wallet start shaking in fear. It seems we all feel the same way. Perhaps all those episodes of “Law & Order” we’ve watched will come in handy if we ever need a lawyer.
