Oh boy, here we go again with the rich folks trying to one-up each other! “I’ll see your yacht and raise you a charitable foundation!” I mean, don’t get me wrong, giving to charity is great and all, but do they really need to create a whole foundation just to keep themselves busy and entertained? 

Apparently, 70% of charitable giving by the wealthy goes to institutions they’re affiliated with, like their own foundations or alma maters. So, it’s not really about helping others as much as it is about stroking their egos. When you have that much money, you must find creative ways to spend it.
