#17: Respect Goes Two Ways
Well, I’m not entirely sure the first statement is necessarily agreeable. There’s a whole lot of derision and disrespect for the elderly nowadays, but it’s hard to tell if that is just an old habit of the youth that has been around since youth and the elderly existed, or something else. Reaching a ripe old age might not be seen as much as an accomplishment anymore because of advances in health care.

People used to live much shorter lives, so to become elderly was a testament to wisdom gained by experience and survival. Now, plenty of older folk have grown from life, but some folk just stay thirteen for their entire lives, and there’s nothing to do about it.
