What Makes Cheapskates Cheap?
Here’s another interesting view on cheapness versus frugality. At first glance, you might think that this comment is basically saying the same thing in two different ways. But really, I think what they’re saying is that if you’re frugal, you’re thoughtful about the things you buy, and if something isn’t a good idea or isn’t part of your overall financial plan, you know how to say no.

But if you’re cheap, you’re just trying to get out of paying for things you should be paying for—in this article alone, we’ve already seen people trying to get out of paying for napkins, coffee, Christmas presents, and showers. That’s not frugal, that’s just being miserable for the sake of saving a little money.
