Whenever you travel abroad, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings. Locals with bad intentions know how to pick out a tourist from a mile away. It’s important to try and blend in as much as possible and keep your personal belongings secure. You never know what may happen. 

Unfortunately, this person learned those lessons the hard way. He was on a solo trip in Portugal when he got robbed in broad daylight. He was a veteran traveler, so he didn’t think twice when he set his backpack down on the ground at a sidewalk cafe. He didn’t even notice when someone came by and swooped up his backpack with all his valuables inside.
