#22: Unusual Symptoms
Medical textbooks offer a roadmap, but real life paints a more complex picture. Diseases don’t always follow the expected “rules.” One of the trickiest parts? Sometimes, seemingly harmless symptoms mask serious underlying problems. Ignoring that nagging itch or unusual fatigue is easy until something major forces the issue.

As someone with dry skin, I know why I get itchy – the weather, soaps, and fabrics. For other people I know, it’s certain foods that can trigger their skin. For this woman, though… Liver disease? Luckily, she received an accurate diagnosis and good-quality treatment, so two years after her transplant, she is doing well.
