#25: Don’t Dismiss Bloating
Through childbirth and beyond, women often develop a high pain tolerance. Sadly, this becomes a double-edged sword. While a superpower in some ways, it also can work against them in medical settings. The assumption that “if she can handle X, this can’t be that bad” leads to a dangerous pattern of minimizing complaints and potentially missing serious underlying issues.

Initially dismissed as “just bloating,” severe abdominal pain was brushed aside until it reached a crisis point. The shocking revelation of pancreatic cancer eventually led to fatal internal bleeding. When women say they’re in pain, healthcare professionals MUST take them seriously. Ignoring these crucial complaints isn’t just dismissive; it can be downright deadly.
