#39: Don’t Deal With Symptoms in Isolation
Our bodies are complex. We can experience something like a sore foot at the same time as chest pains; usually, they have nothing to do with one another. So we treat them separately, even seeing different medical professionals to deal with each issue in isolation. But that’s not always the case – sometimes, these seemingly unrelated issues are actually signs of something serious.

This person’s wife, for example, had a cough that just simply wouldn’t go away. That, alongside a high pulse and hip pain, enabled her doctors to discover the tragic presence of stage four lymphoma. It’s a sad story that demonstrates how sometimes a combination of overlooked symptoms can hide serious conditions.
