14. And Saturn Got Weirder
First it got its rings, now Saturn has also added some hexagons to its north pole. It really wants to go home as the world’s most creative and unusual planet, eh? Uranus still wins simply for floating on its side. Still, it’s pretty cool to see such unique shapes poking out of planets.
So why are there hexagons? It has to do with the storms on the northern part of the planet that are essentially cloud patterns constantly rotating. Because of the nature of the storms, it traps them up north forming into a hexagon.
