#16: Listen to Children
The innocence stolen, the laughter replaced by whimpers of pain – a parent’s heart aches alongside a child battling illness. Watching them struggle, their joy dimmed by discomfort fuels an ache deeper than any wound. And when early detection slips through our grasp, the weight of “what if” becomes an unwelcome companion.
This story really is a parent’s worst nightmare. It’s the combination of the elements that make it so heartbreaking. Firstly, the son experienced a set of escalating symptoms, then the disappointment of not getting good answers from the doctors, and then when they finally did uncover what was happening, it was too late, and the child now needs daily care.
