#40: Pain When Consuming Alcohol
We tune out minor aches and pains, considering them normal bumps in the road. But what if an infrequent symptom disrupts the usual rhythm? Do we brush it off as an anomaly or acknowledge its potential importance? Recognizing these outliers can be tricky. They’re rare, unexpected, and easy to dismiss, but they can also be the most important indicators of our health.
This infrequent drinker would experience pain in their shoulder after having a beer. It was harmless enough, especially given it was only occasionally – or so it seemed. Much like the low percentage of alcohol content in their beverage, this symptom of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma appears in a small percentage of cases. So even if it’s every once in a while, if it seems weird, it very well might be.
