#3: Everyone Needs Access to Health Insurance
Times are really tough, and not everyone can afford health insurance. That means that small things that we might just try to brush off can snowball into bigger issues when you can’t easily see a doctor. Without insurance, those nagging health concerns might not get the attention they need, and that’s a real challenge for us to tackle.
Not having insurance meant ongoing heartburn being ignored, leading to an infection that I don’t even think I can spell. And though this patient eventually got the required treatment, the damage had already been done. It makes me wonder if this all could have been avoided if they had access to good health care.
