#25: “Having a Fall”
At what age do people start “having a fall”? You can’t be 22 and “have a fall,” and obviously, at 85, your great aunt can “have a fall,” but where does it begin? And what if these falls aren’t just a person getting older, clumsy, or needing glasses? The early stages of some diseases are incredibly subtle, and if we aren’t aware of these less obvious signs, it can cost precious time.
For one family, these seemingly harmless stumbles were the first sign of something life-changing. This wasn’t just clumsiness – a devastating ALS diagnosis soon followed. We should all heed the lesson of this story: sometimes a fall isn’t just a fall. Because if left unchecked, the deterioration can be swift and merciless.
